Mariana Renata cewe kelahiran Paris, Perancis, 31 Desember 1983 adalah seorang aktris dan model asal Indonesia. Tahun 2004 ia menjadi bintang iklan Lux (sabun kecantikan) yang melambungkan namanya dalam dunia hiburan Indonesia.

Ayah Mariana Renata adalah orang Perancis bernama Andre Dantec sementara ibunya Anita Kirana keturunan Jawa-Tionghoa-Italia. Lahir di Paris, ia pernah tinggal di Zimbabwe selama enam tahun sebelum kembali ke Paris selama setahun dan akhirnya ke Indonesia. Lulus SMA di Jakarta, ia meneruskan pendidikan ke Universitas Sorbonne, Paris, mengambil jurusan Sastra Bahasa Inggris. Renata kini sedang menyelesaikan gelar masternya di Universitas New South Wales di Sydney, Australia.

Pada tahun 2005 Renata membintangi film Janji Joni dan tahun 2006 berperan menjadi Kay di film Lux Short Movie berjudul Matchmaker. Renata juga pernah mendapat peran kecil, hanya kebagian mengisi satu episode dalam sinetron seri "Dunia Tanpa Koma". Beberapa video klip grup band ternama Indonesia seperti Ungu, dan Peterpan pernah dibintangi oleh Renata.

Kemampuan akting Renata pun telah mendapat pengakuan dengan diterimanya penghargaan sebagai Most Favorite Supporting Actress dalam acara MTV Indonesia Movie Award (MIMA) 2005. Tahun 2006 bersama Darius Sinathrya, menjadi pasangan favorit versi MTV setelah memenangkan penghargaan Most Favorite Model MTV Indonesia 2006.

Renata sempat dikabarkan berpacaran dengan Nicholas Saputra.

She doesn’t dig All Stars, she got no thing for hip hop, she doesn’t care about Prince Charles and Camilla, she dislikes narcissism. She is Mariana Renata, a French girl with whole lotta ‘Cali’ love and nasi ayam Semarang next to her granny’s block. She ain’t feelin’ the fame but she got time for us and whatnot.

What do you up to? Now? Nothing special, paling cuma promosi buat Janji Joni and workin’ on my skripsi, which I haven’t done yet.

Where did you grew up actually? I grew up here, I spent like, 10 years of my life here. Dari SD kelas 1 sampai lulus SMA, then I went to Paris.

Nike, Adidas, All Stars, Asics, Vans atau Yongki? Ok wait. I don’t know Yongki. All Stars, Hmm.. I don’t know. Asics, I don’t know. I guess I like skater shoes, but I don’t really wear them but I like looking at them. So, Vans I guess.

Apa pendapat lo tentang cowok berambut Mohawk? Basically, I don’t really… It’s okay with me, but now it’s like everyone has the same haircut, it’s annoying.

Your choice of nite-out: R ‘n’ B, House, Live Music, Karaoke? I guess live music.

Ideal Weekend: Puncak, Anyer atau Citos? Anyer What are 3 things that turns you off? A guy who takes longer then me to get dress, a cheesy wheezy guy, narcissism.

Do you have a stalker atau mungkin punya pengalaman di-stalk? Not really, but someone was sending me a letter from Indonesia.

From here? Ya. I don’t know where he got my address, He was like very pissed at me coz’ I didn’t send the mail back or sumthin’. It was weird.

Are you enjoying the fame now? I don’t really feel it right now.

What’s your plan, kalo udah ga jadi model lagi? Anyway, modeling is just a side job for me, right now I’m doing my skripsi and gonna change my major next year.

What major are you taking right now? English and American culture and literature. It’s not my thing but is just a knowledge educate, maybe I’ll be taking advertising and production or sumthin’.

We read somewhere that your thesis is on East Timor, what’s it about ? Basically, it’s about Australia’s involvement in East Timor, it’s like they have this book and dictionary based on governmental document and stuff like that from Australia and I have to criticize them.

So from the research, are you against the Australia’s involvement or for? To be honest, I haven’t done anything yet.

What do you consider yourself as? A hippie, hipster, rocker, clubber, hip-hopper or else? I don’t think I really have it, I wish I did. Hahaha.

Prince Charles and Camilla’s Royal Wedding. Against or for? I don’t care. Hahaha

Any favorite musicians? I like Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley.

We saw you on that Chrisye and Peter Pan video. What was your first impression when you saw Chrisye wearing wings? Haahaahaahaa.

Do you have any comment about that? I’d rather not!

When you were younger, were you a die hard fan of any band in particular ? Bands like Hanson, Spice Girls, Moffats? This is embrassing. I used to like Hanson, then it came the time when I was the all time fan of Kurt Cobain.

From Hanson to Nirvana? It’s a kinda big leap. What do you think of Courtney Love then ? I don’t care. I like her but she’s kinda boring.

Have you ever heard that baby singer who came out of France? Yeah. Jordy?

Right. Have you ever met him in person there? No, Paris is big. Huahahaha! Kasian lagi, everyone is like, making fun of him.

So you were voted as HAI’s most beautiful girl in 2004. What’s your thought on that? I don’t know. They told me and I was like, okay.

What's your weirdest experience? Weirdest in what weird?

Any kind of weird, that’s up in your head right now. I never really had weird as in weird but I had funny experience like sleeping in the street in Amsterdam, we missed the train and we hang out with homeless people cause they know the spot where it’s not that cold.

Your film, from the poster… seriously, it’s not cheesy… but a bit freakin’ cheeseball! We mean, the poster itself, we haven’t seen the movie. I don’t know, I heard a lot of people not liking it, I guess I’ve seen it too many times for me to comment it on it now

But really, are the film delivery guys here are that handsome? Ok, what do you think about 1 the film industry here? Shit... I only watch 3 local movies here, I just got into it and this is my first movie here, I’m not the kinda person that really into it like, yeahh and this and that. I’m a movie freak, but I haven’t watched that much Indonesian movie so I can’t really judge them.

What’s your favorite movie then? I like so many movies but the film that I watched the most is “Empire Records”.

Do you know anything about “Freedom Fries”? (Some people in the US tried to change the term “French Fries” to “Freedom Fries” due to the France government refusal to support the

U.S on Iraq invasion) Yeah… it’s like, whatever!!!

What’s your favorite local food? Apa ya? Nasi ayam semarang.

Why Josh Groban’s music video? Isn’t he like, a mix between Michael Bolton and one of the

Color Me Badd? Why not? I don’t really care.

But you’re a Jimi Hendrix fan. Who cares? it’s just a job like any other job, I don’t even know the guy.

Is Michael Jackson innocent or guilty? Innocent. Cause, how do you know? No one knows. I think, like, it’s just a way to take money from him.

Did you have an imaginary friend when you were little? I talked to myself a lot, but I didn’t have any imaginary friend.

We’ve read on a magazine, that when you go out, you go like crazy, do crazy stuff and you don’t care. We care and we wanna know how crazy? When I’m here, I don’t really think you can do whatever your want.
